22 Kids and Counting’s Sue Radford emotional as her ‘last baby’ celebrates huge milestone: ‘Such a shock’
22 Kids and Counting star Sue Radford penned an emotional tribute to her “last baby”, Heidie, four, as she waved her off on her first day of school yesterday.
The family found fame on the Channel 5 series where fans were allowed to follow their hectic lives, welcoming babies, and dilemmas as well as learning how to navigate their unusual circumstances.
Radford gave birth to Heidie in 2020 and on Tuesday, the mum-of-22 sent her off for her first day of school, penning an emotional Instagram post to celebrate the milestone.
Alongside a photo of her baby in her school uniform, Radford penned: “Well that’s it our last baby has started school. She absolutely loved it and went in yesterday no problem at all.
“She took a little present in for her best friend that she had bought her while on holiday she knew exactly what she wanted to get and asked every day to buy it.
“Casper also had his first day at secondary school and had a brilliant day, although his description of the toilets had us in stitches. I’m really missing them so much now they’ve gone back to school does anyone else feel like this?
“I think when we are lucky enough to get to spend the summer holidays together it’s such a shock when they go back but they’ve all settled in brilliantly. I hope all your little people are enjoying being back at school. #soblessed #firstdayofschool #love.”
Fans of the family were quick to comment on the huge milestone, with one noting: “Can’t believe Heidie is in school already don’t seem like 2 minutes ago you vlogged saying she was here where has the time gone.”
“Can’t believe Heidie off to school…” another simply stated before a third penned: “Ahh bless her, so sweet! Go on Heidie go get em xxx.”
“Her hair looks adorable. I’m glad she enjoyed her day,” another expressed before a fifth noted: “Heidie has grown up so quick, she looks so much like Bonnie, enjoy big school Heidie.”
Someone else added: “Oh my lord Sue & Noel I can’t flipping believe it. She looks adorable in her little uniform.” (sic)
Due to their Channel 5 series, Radford has been very open about the struggles which her family often face, especially as her teenagers and the older children struggle with everyday issues.
The family matriarch, 49, was recently seen rallying around Sophie as she struggled to get out of “a rut” ahead of a milestone birthday, during a new episode of the series.
“I’m turning 30 soon and I’m dreading it,” Sophie, 29, explained to the camera: before commenting how her 20s were spent being a mother to her three children and that she’s fallen into “a rut”.

However, Sue was on hand and noticed that her daughter had withdrawn from the family and decided to pitch an idea to her along with her second-eldest daughter, Chloe, who was once very close with Sophie.
“I’m not wanting to interfere, but she seems to be in a really bad place and I’m not sure I can leave it any longer,” Sue told Chloe.
The two then called Sophie to suggest a 30th birthday party, but Sophie declined, explaining she didn’t feel up to it.
After some persuasion, Sue and Chloe were able to twist her arm and convince her to take a girls’ trip with them and 21-year-old Katie.
