Selling Sunset exclusive: Mary Bonnet claims ‘there is tension between Chelsea and I’
Selling Sunset superstar Mary Bonnet has opened up about her relationship with co-star Chelsea Lazkani – and admitted “there’s been tension”.
Speaking exclusively to GB News ahead of the release of her memoir, the reality television celebrity also confirmed there is likely to be a new series of the show. It comes after reports that the programme might not be returning.
Speaking to Ellie Costello and Ben Leo on GB News, Mary said: “Nothing’s been absolutely confirmed yet, but I’m going to say it is 99 per cent because we just got, like, number one reality show in the world. Every season is meant to be the last one.”
Quizzed on her relationship with rival sellers, she said: “It’s very competitive, so I don’t want to say that the other girls are jealous, but yes it does get very competitive.”
Pressed on whether she clashed with Chelsea because she was British, Mary continued: ““No, no way. I used to live here. I love Britain. Well, except for my baby ex. But no, I don’t think that’s the reason at all. I think she feels that way more than I do. I’ve never really had a problem with her. I don’t like some of the things she says and does, but I like her as a person. She’s just, you know, a bit forceful with her words and can be a little brutal sometimes, and I just take a more polite approach.
“We get along when we need to. There has been some tension, even recently. But I just try to mediate it as much as I can and try to keep it toned down so that we can get back to work. Because I just feel like it just distracts from our productivity.”
Offering a secret insight into how she works, Mary said: “ When we’re not filming, we’re not always in the office. At the same time, I work from home a lot. There’s a lot of fans that come up and there’s tour buses now that come by every way, like three minutes, like there’s tour buses, and then people get out and take selfies in front of the office.”
Asked if she ever might consider going solo and quitting the agency – where she is now VP – she said: “I could go it alone I suppose. But I’m very loyal and he’s (Jason) my best friend, and so I don’t know, maybe one day, but right now, I have no interest in leaving.”
