Alan Halsall details ‘mind-blowing’ Coronation Street moment as he reminisces on I’m A Celebrity
Alan Halsall has quickly become a firm favourite on this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.
The Coronation Street star has starred in the ITV soap for almost three decades, and on Wednesday’s episode on the reality show, he shared a special memory from his time on the soap.
As the celebrities sat around the camp chatting about their fame, Halsall, 42, recalled: “I remember just looking around and Mike Baldwin was over there, and Ken Barlow was over there and Jack and Vera and it was mind-blowing.”
He continued: “Everyone there welcomed me with open arms and it genuinely is like one big family.”
The soap legend also opened up about fame on Tuesday’s show, where detailed how it had been “constant” and that he’d only struggled with it after the birth of his daughter.
“It’s hard then,” he reflected, sparking Coleen Rooney’s confession as the 38-year-old agreed with the actor.
During Wednesday’s chat about fame, McFly star Danny Jones asked Rooney how she’d got to her current point in life.
Telling the campmates she had a very happy and content childhood, she shared her mum was a nursery nurse and her dad was a bricklayer.
“We didn’t have much but we had everything we needed, it was a very happy childhood, I wouldn’t change it,” she explained.
“I think that’s what has given me my morals and my way that I instill in my kids too, the way I was brought up.”
Halsall once again related to Rooney, sharing his childhood mirrored a lot of what she had said.
“I had a really happy childhood but… without the support of my parents I wouldn’t be sat here doing this now,” he admitted.
Speaking of his inspirations, Jones said Bruce Springsteen “became an idol” for him growing up.
Reverend Richard Coles then asked the camp which celebrity’s life they would like to experience.
First to answer, Rooney replied: “I think I would like to experience a day in the life of a royal.”
Cole joked: “You practically are a royal, Coleen,” before she continued: “There’s a lot of things that you don’t get to know about the royal family, I think I would like to see how they operate, day to day, week to week.”

Answering his own question, Coles explained his celebrity would be Kevin De Bruyne.
“I’d love to be someone that was good at sport, I’d love to experience what it was like to light up a midfield, I’d love to experience what it would be like to read a game, I’d love to be able to make goals, score goals.”
Rooney then shared that she’d met De Bruyne a few times, describing him as a “lovely footballer.”
“He’s my favourite football player after Wayne Rooney,” Coles quipped to the football star’s wife.
He added: “It’s so different from anything I can do.”
