JB Gill left stunned as BBC Strictly’s Craig Revel Horwood issues ‘Hollywood handshake’ for ‘perfect’ dance
Strictly Come Dancing star JB Gill was left stunned and honoured after he received a “Hollywood Handshake” from Craig Revel Horwood.
For weeks on end, Gill has been determined to get a perfect score of 40 with partner Lauren Oakley and took his chance in the semi-final to do so.
After performing the Paso Doble, the couple took to the dancefloor for the second time to perform the Salsa to Red Alert by Basement Jaxx.
As the performance came to an end and they made their way over to Tess Daly to receive their comments, Horwood had other ideas.
He told Gill: “Darling, you need to come over here. Come on. Come to daddy! Paul Hollywood is in, darling!” before extending out his hand for a handshake.
Gill then went down the line hugging and shaking the hands of Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke.
The handshake was the extent of Horwood’s feedback, leaving the rest of the judges to agree and claim that it was the most perfect Salsa they had seen all series.
The proof was in the pudding as the Beat Again singer received a score of a perfect 40 – leaving him to celebrate his birthday in style.
Fans of the show were left stunned by Horwood’s gesture and took to their X account to praise the move from the cold-hearted judge.
One commented: “Not the handshake from Craig! Wow, that is a compliment! #strictly.”
“Yaaaassss Craig #Strictly,” another penned before a third added: “Craig giving JB a Hollywood handshake with actual Paul Hollywood in the house???? I’m SCREAMING!”
A fourth noted: “Can someone else confirm they just heard Craig Revel Horwood say ‘come to daddy’ or was it just me #strictly.”
Someone else simply stated: “Craig is such an icon.”
A sixth praised: “Wow the Paul Hollywood handshake for JB from Craig (fully deserved tho).” (sic)
Whilst his score may reflect he will make it into the final, recent bookmakers have priced his chances at being eliminated from the show.
Betfred’s Kayley Cornelius gives Gill 5/2 odds of being eliminated tomorrow night.
