BBC The Traitors star shares true feelings on cast as he sets record straight on ‘bullying’ row after axe
Kasim Ahmed, the latest star of the Traitors to be banished from the BBC show, has issued a statement following his elimination.
The 33-year-old doctor from Cambridge was booted from the show’s iconic Scottish castle during Wednesday’s episode after his fellow castmates wrongly predicted he was a Traitor.
Kas appeared to relish the opportunity to taunt his fellow players by leading them to believe they’d correctly eliminated a Traitor, only to pull the rug from under them by revealing his Faithful status.
The doctor was applauded by fans at home for teasing his castmates after many felt he’d been treated unfairly during the course of the show’s opening episode.
Kas found himself under pressure from his fellow Faithfuls after many predicted his alliance to the Traitors thanks to the banished Armani’s defence of him.
Following Traitor Armani’s elimination at the roundtable prior, the BBC reality series showed how Kas was often left out of conversations among the contestants and forced to eat his dinner alone away from his castmates.
Newcomer Fozia even noted that Kas being “ostracised” wasn’t in the nature of the game and had turned things “personal” at her first roundtable.
Following Kas’ banishment, social media was awash with viewers complaining about the conduct of the cast towards him, with many branding it “bullying” and “shameful”.
However, in the hours after his elimination, Kas took to social media himself to try and set the record straight about his bonds with his fellow contestants, insisting there was no bad blood between them.
On Instagram, Kas shared a series of snaps from his time on the show with the message: “What an opportunity, and what amazing support you’ve all given me! But most of all, as a cast we were a family, together for weeks and made bonds that are unbreakable, and the support and love we have for each other is even greater.
“Joe and Jake may have lead the charge against me in the game, but have been an excellent support in the real world and are some of the loveliest people I’ve met (and I’ve met a few!).
“Remember that all of us are people, and that we all act in different ways under stress,” he continued before signing off: “TRAITORS FAMILY FOREVER!!”
Kas’ heartfelt statement received the seal of approval from Traitors host Claudia Winkleman who replied with a series of love heart emojis.
However, despite his defence of his Traitors castmates, some followers were still unconvinced as they continued to rage at the treatment of Kas on the show.
In the comments section of the post, one furious fan typed: “They definitely have not come across well on the show, especially that Joe! He has his comments limited on Instagram which is telling. You were great and should have stayed longer!”
“What a f***ing rip off,” a second raged. “No one should be treated that bad on a reality TV show and then the people who were mean to them not even apologise.
“You were a great player and incredibly generous, it’s an honour to live in the same city as you and you kept good natured the whole game. I think we all hope you get recognition for your good work.”
Elsewhere, a third echoed: “Kas I wouldn’t waste a post sticking up for them. It may be a game but those are their personalities and they bullied you because of low IQ and subscious bias.

“They’re now just worried how they look to others and of course they know you’re nice (because you are!) but unfortunately they will always see/treat you a certain way.
“You were the best on there, and Dan for sticking up for you, but I won’t be watching this Series anymore due to the remaining horrendous casting. Just know that all of us watching admire and support you and we felt all your pain. The producers should have taken more action and stepped in. Disappointed they didn’t. Wishing you and your family all the best.”
And another weighed in: “I really struggled watching how the other faithfuls treated you.
“Your exit, however, was sublime and I hope you know you won the hearts of the UK in your time on the show!” (sic)
