Laura Woods, 37, gives birth to first child with Love Island boyfriend as pair unveils adorable name alongside sweet snaps
TNT Sports presenter Laura Woods and former Love Island star Adam Collard have welcomed their first child together, announcing the news on Saturday afternoon.
The couple revealed their newborn son’s name as Leo Ernie Collard in a series of touching photographs shared on Instagram.
The intimate hospital snaps show Woods, 37, enjoying a cup of tea while cradling their newborn, alongside black and white images of Collard, 29, holding his son’s hand.
Additional photos captured the proud parents taking Leo home from the hospital in his carrier, followed by heartwarming moments of the newborn meeting their family dog at home.
The couple’s relationship has moved swiftly since they began dating in October 2023, with their romance blossoming after dates at the Black Bull pub in Trimdon, Co Durham.
They enjoyed a significant weekend away in St Ives early in their relationship, which would later become the location of their engagement.
Woods announced their pregnancy in July 2024 with a simple Instagram post featuring an ultrasound image alongside her French bulldog, captioned “Hey, baby.”
Just two months later, in September 2024, Collard proposed at Carbis Bay Estate. Woods shared the news on Instagram, writing: “And just like that… You make me happy. Thank you @carbisbayestate – the place we fell in love and now the place we got engaged.”
Woods has established herself as a prominent figure in sports broadcasting, currently serving as the lead presenter for UEFA Champions League and boxing coverage on TNT Sports.
Her career began at Sky Sports in 2009, where she worked her way up from runner to producer, eventually becoming a regular pitch-side reporter on Super Sunday.
She previously hosted talkSPORT’s breakfast show from March 2020 until June 2023.
Woods has also made significant contributions to ITV’s sports coverage, notably leading their presentation of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Her extensive broadcasting experience includes roles with Amazon Prime Video and DAZN, where she covered boxing and Women’s Champions League matches.
The birth announcement, shared with their combined 1.7 million Instagram followers, prompted an outpouring of congratulations from notable figures in sports and entertainment.
Former World Champion boxer Ebanie Bridges offered her congratulations to the new parents.
UFC fighter Molly McCann and Woods’s former talkSPORT colleague Gabriel Agbonlahor also shared their well-wishes.
