Sir Rod Stewart’s daughter makes urgent plea amid LA wildfires as she urges fans: ‘Do the right thing!’
Rod Stewart’s daughter Ruby has issued a plea for her followers to donate to help those affected by the ferocious Los Angeles wildfires.
The 37-year-old model is the daughter of rocker Stewart, 80, and his ex, model Kelly Emberg. She resides in America and on Tuesday shared a heartfelt appeal to her 48,000 Instagram followers.
It comes as the seemingly endless flames continue to destroy the US city, with the latest death toll estimated to be at least 25 people.
Meanwhile, thousands of homes have been destroyed and families left without houses thanks to the devastating blaze.
Mother-of-one Ruby penned a recent social media post, explaining a connection to some of the victims as she begged people to donate.
“My friends @Victoriadela fuente and @aaayersss made an evolving donation list of the fire of evacuating their own home with their two babies and dog… they managed to find the time to still think about others,” she began.
The post continued: “I cannot express enough that every dollar counts… it’s what you can afford, but there are strength in numbers…
“So please send this out to whoever has a heart and will do the right thing…”
Not long before the plea, she had posted another candid message, writing: “Last weekend was the first time I’ve ever heard the phrase ‘Firenado’… something that sounds like a Marvel supervillain…
“We are hitting unprecedented times of climate change, and this is certainly just the beginning…
“I have no political affiliation when it comes to natural disasters and I think naturally many need to define what is happening by blaming someone in charge and I understand that need… but more importantly is what you can do now.
“At the end of the day we are here to take care of each other so please do not wait on your government officials to rebuild or take of a community.”
The reflective statement continued: “Do it yourself and even if it’s not a place or community that you identify with… because empathy is the highest form of intelligence and truly believe there is more (intelligent) good people in the world than evil.
“I have hope and I have faith that we can work together to be the change we’d like to see in humanity.
“I can’t even comprehend the pain and heartbreak that so many are enduring right now.”
She concluded the message: “My heart is with you, California.”
